The Department of Social Work at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire invite applications for a faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor to serve as Department Chair. The position will start July 1, 2012.
Responsibilities
- Applicants will be expected to provide administrative direction to the Department.
- The successful candidate will also teach courses in the Department of Social Work, participate in research and scholarly activities, provide academic advising to students, engage in service to the university and community, and participate in department, college, and university committee work.
Qualifications
- An MSW from a CSWE-accredited program with two years full-time post-MSW employment in social work and a doctorate in Social Work or closely related field from a regionally accredited higher education institution are required.
- Salary will be commensurate with teaching experience.
- Teaching experience and the record of scholarship must be consistent with UW-Eau Claire requirements for the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor.
- The following will be considered assets:
- Experience in department administration;
- knowledge of CSWE accreditation process and EPAS competencies;
- experience teaching macro level practice courses;
- background in corrections/chemical dependency.

The Department of Social Work is a dynamic and vibrant learning community, accredited by CSWE to offer the baccalaureate social work degree. The five tenure-track and two clinical faculty maintain a strong collegial environment, with an emphasis on quality of teaching. The university is nationally recognized for faculty-student collaborative research, service learning, and international education, and the Department is a campus leader in all three areas. The Department hosts a part time MSW program through the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Teaching opportunities may be available in the graduate program.
