The Department of Education Studies in the College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire invites applications for multiple probationary tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The department is interested in educators with expertise in reading and literacy, and mathematics and other STEM areas in education who can contribute to multiple program, department and college initiatives. The positions will start August 19, 2013.
Responsibilities

Teach courses in the Department of Education Studies based on program needs and in accordance with specialization.

Develop and/or maintain a scholarly research agenda.

Advise and mentor pre-service teacher education students and graduate students.

Engage in service to the department, University and profession.
-
Appointment at the Associate Professor rank carries an expectation of leadership in collaborative education initiatives and program development.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

Earned doctorate by time of appointment in a teacher education field with specific focus in at least one of the following areas: literacy and/or reading education, mathematics and other STEM areas, instructional design in education, information studies, and leadership.

Record of, or potential for, a focused agenda of scholarship and inquiry.

Commitment to the education of, and an ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with, culturally and linguistically diverse students, colleagues and communities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three years teaching experience in PK - 12 settings.
- For reading/literacy specialization: experience as a reading teacher or reading supervisor.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse student populations.
- Evidence of effective university teaching.
- Expertise in multiple areas listed above will be an asset.
