The Department of Business Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire invites applications for a probationary tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will start August 20, 2012.
Responsibilities
- Applicants will be expected teach business writing and presentations courses as assigned in the Department of Business Communication at the equivalent of 12 credits per semester.
- The successful candidate will also participate in research and scholarly activities; provide academic advising to students as assigned; engage in service to the university and community; and participate in department, college, and university committee work.
Qualifications
- Doctorate in or ABD in business communication, technical communication, professional communication, communication, business education, business administration, or related discipline from a regionally accredited institution is required.
- ABD applicants must complete the terminal degree by March 20, 2013.
- Ability to teach oral and written communication courses is required.
- Teaching experience in business communication is preferred.
- Writing and presentations experience in a professional business setting will be considered an asset.
The Department:
The Department of Business Communication is one of the four departments in the College of Business. Business Communication is a program within the department. The College of Business consists of 2300 students and 50 faculty and instructional staff. Department members work closely with College of Business faculty to ensure that the communication classes meet the needs of the various majors in the college.
