The Associate Vice Chancellor for Undergraduate Studies reports to and works in consultation with the Provost/Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. The Associate Vice Chancellor promotes and facilitates the highest quality in academic curriculum and academic support programs by fostering a positive and productive work environment, a spirit of collaborative leadership, and a commitment to inclusive excellence.
Responsibilities
The Associate Vice Chancellor provides effective oversight, operational direction, and coordination for the following major functions:
- Coordinate and administer all aspects of the undergraduate curriculum.
- Supervise and oversee personnel and programmatic operations of select student support programs and units.
- Monitor and coordinate key performance measures for undergraduate experiences.
- Collaborate with college deans and program directors to ensure curricula of superior academic quality and to strengthen recruitment and success of diverse students.
- Facilitate the development of new academic programs, certificates, and centers, and promote interdisciplinary collaboration and curricular innovations at all levels.
- Serve as the Program Review Coordinator for academic program and academic support program reviews.
- Serve as the UW System liaison for new academic programs and coordinate campus responses to constituents.
- Foster an organizational and educational climate that promotes and celebrates diversity.
And other duties as assigned by the Provost/Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
Requirements
- Earned doctorate/terminal degree from an accredited institution.
- Tenurable as a full professor in one of the academic departments as evidenced by an appropriate record of scholarly activity and teaching excellence.
- Proven ability to provide higher education administrative leadership and vision.
- Minimum three years experience in higher education administration at or above department chair.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusiveness among faculty, staff, and students.

- Experience with student support services and co-curricular initiatives.
