A probationary tenure track faculty position is available in the Department of Accounting and Finance at the rank of Assistant Professor with an emphasis in Finance. The position is available beginning August 22, 2011. Areas of teaching may include financial institutions and markets, bank management, international finances and other areas of finance. Teaching in the MBA program is part of this position, as is teaching online (either undergraduate or MBA).
Responsibilities
Applicants will be expected to:
- teach courses as assigned in the Department of Accounting and Finance.
- participate in research and scholarly activities consistent with AACSB expectations.
- provide academic advising to students as assigned.
- engage in service to the university and community.
- participate in department, college, and university committee work.
- Areas of teaching may include financial institutions and markets, bank management, international finances and other areas of finance. Teaching in the MBA program is part of this position, as is teaching online (either undergraduate or MBA).
Qualifications
- Doctorate in finance must be received no later than May 31, 2012.
- Professional certification, evidence of scholarly activity and relevant work experience are all considered assets.
- Applicants should demonstrate capacity for high quality teaching (as evidenced by teaching evaluations if available).
- Applicants must be able to legally work in the U.S. as of the first day of the contract.
The Department of Accounting and Finance offers comprehensive undergraduate majors in both accounting and finance. The present faculty consists of 14 full-time positions and six part-time serving 450 accounting majors and 300 finance majors. The Department also provides instruction for the MBA and entrepreneurship programs of the College.
