Josef Gapko Economics Scholarship

The Josef Gapko Economics Scholarship was offered for the first time for the 2009-2010 academic year. It was created in memory of Josef Gapko (pictured at left) who died at age 22 due to Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Josef was an outstanding senior in economics, an accomplished vocal performer with a passion for singing, and an inspiration to those who knew him. His family desires to help another young economics student with a passion for learning and helping others.

This scholarship is available to an outstanding junior or senior pursuing a major or minor in economics with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.  The successful applicant will demonstrate an understanding of the value of a liberal education and be an inspiration to others.
