Student Poster Presentations
December 10, 2007
Students of WMNS/ECON 337 (Women and the Labor Market) presented six poster presentations on issues that women face in the labor market in the United States. The project topics were as follows:
- Women, men, and education: time trends (2000-2007, Wisconsin and Alabama
- Women in the labor market: wage trends (2007, Wisconsin)
- Women and occupational trends (Wisconsin 2007)
- Gender wage gap in male dominated occupations (2007 Wisconsin)
- Marital status, presence of children, and economic status (2007 Milwaukee)
- Economic status of American minority women (2007 North east UW and international comparison with Germany)
The completed research papers, including literature review, were also available for viewing on the same day.

A Contingent Valuation Study of the Willingness-to-Pay for the Switch to Automated collection of Solid Waste with Single Stream Recycling in Madison, Wisconsin
This project has yielded a finished paper entitled "Assessing the Support for the Switch to Automated Collection of Solid Waste with Single Stream Recycling in madison, WI" that has been submitted for publication to a professional journal. We also presented the work in progress at the 2005 Midwest Economics Association meetings in March (Milwaukee).
