The CVCERD in partnership with the Eau Claire Economic Development Corporation
is collecting a variety of economic data for use in describing the local/regional
economy. Our plan is to compile this information into a database that
can be used for local/regional economic research. Click
here for more information on data and sources.
We will maintain this database and eventually make it available to interested parties for download from our website, thereby making the CVCERD a one-stop-shop for local economic data. We also issue monthly and/or quarterly reports using this data releasing these reports in the local media outlets as well as through our website.
The ultimate goal of this project is to combine many of these variables into composite indexes of economic indicators that can be used to track the performance of the local economy as well as to forecast future economic activity. This research is valuable because such information gives local government and business decision-makers a critical advantage -- enabling them to reduce the risk of being caught unprepared for changes in the economy's performance.
We also prepare a variety of other economic reports of interest to the Chippewa Valley.
If you have a further interest in this project, for example, access to data or a more detailed economic analysis, please contact Professor Eric Jamelske at 715-836-3254 or by email at jamelsem@uwec.edu.
