About the Program
One student, in ESL classes, and one student, fluent in English, will be matched to be Conversation Partners for the semester. Partners will meet for one hour each week for different activities and conversation topics that interest them. These meetings are informal. Partners will decide when and where to meet. Past Conversation Partners have met for lunch, bowling, and other activities that interest them.
The Conversation Partner program helps students in ESL classes become more comfortable with their conversational English, learn about American culture, and share their own culture with another student. This program also helps non-ESL students get to know a student from another country or background as well as help them practice conversational English, learn about Eau Claire and life as an American student. The fall semester registration deadline is: February 3, 2016
*If you register after this deadline, or do not receive a conversation partner for the current semester, you will be considered for the next semester.
- You must be a current UW-Eau Claire student
- You must be currently living in Eau Claire or the Chippewa Valley
