Registering for ES 212

Students wishing to enroll in ES212 need to complete the form

Request to Register for ES212 which can be obtained through the preceding link or in CEN3215, and follow the guidelines on that form including attaching test scores.

ES212:  Initial Teaching Experience in Elementary, Middle and High School Settings

This initial field experience provides opportunities to study and teach students in grades 1-12.  School level placements made in accordance to certification requirements for ECA or EAA licensure.  Students complete approximately 50 hours of observation/teaching.

Changes in Basic Skills Testing – ACT & Registration for ES 212

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction recently implemented changes to the testing requirements for teacher education programs.  The ACT plus Writing exam was added as a new option for student applicants to demonstrate competency in basic skills. On this exam, the passing scores are a composite of 22 and a combined English/Writing sub-score of 20.   Passing scores on the standard ACT remain a composite of 23 and minimum sub-scores of 20 on English, Math, and Reading.

Scores can now be used if a college entrance exam was taken within the past 10 years, instead of within five years.  For further details, please follow this link to the DPI website:
