Tickets are allotted to each graduate attending commencement in accordance with a formula based upon the Registrar's count of candidates approved to graduate, the number of available seats in Zorn Arena and your reservation status. The largest possible equal number of tickets will be assigned to each graduate in an effort to be fair to everyone. 


May graduates attending commencement will recieve up to _ tickets each. 


The number of tickets allowed per graduate will be announced during the 2nd week of February at which time the ticket reservation system link will be made live.

Commencement tickets are free but required for all guests, including infants and children

Tickets will first be available for pick up at the Senior Countdown Event on Wednesday, April 22, and distribution will continue at the Service Center thereafter. A picture ID is required.

If there are additional tickets available as we get closer to the date of commencement a notice will be sent to all who have registered to attend with instructions on how to request more tickets.

Tickets cannot be sold, as they are being provided to you at no cost.



If you are not planning to attemd commencement PLEASE let us know that by using the Commencement Ticket Reservation System.  It will only take a moment and could make the world of difference to someone attending who could use the tickets.

Monday – Friday  >  7 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday  >  10 a.m. – 9 p.m.


If you are unable to get as many tickets as you want, remote site broadcasts will be presented in Davies Center — in Woodland Theater (328) and Ojibwe Rooms A and B (330A and 330B). No tickets are required for these locations. These spaces offer comfortable seating for elderly guests and those with small children.


Candidates living at an address 50 miles or more from the city of Eau Claire while student teaching, interning, or studying abroad may request that their commencement tickets be mailed. Requests must be registered on the Commencement Ticket Reservation System no later  than Friday, May1st. You must include the following information in your request:  Your name, your Blugold ID number, undergraduate or graduate student, 9am or 2pm ceremony, and the address where you'd like the tickets sent to.  No exceptions will be made since the Service Center is open evenings and weekends. 


Contact Debra Lang at no later than Monday, May 4th if you or your guests have any of the following special needs: 

  • Require special seating arrangements because of physical impairments
  • Require the printed program in a larger format for the visually impaired
  • Require the use of a hearing assistance device (an interpreter will be at the ceremony) 

One family member may accompany guests who require special seating. Graduates will be required to exchange their regular tickets for special seating tickets for each guest who requires special seating along with their escort.
