Costs & Billing

Costs
UW-Eau Claire offers a wide range of program costs to fit every student’s budget. Some programs are much more expensive than studying on campus, while others are about the same cost. We list estimated cost information on each program page. Students also receive an estimated cost sheet at the time of acceptance. Be sure to look at the “Total Costs” section to see not only what is paid to UW-Eau Claire, but those expenses that are paid to the host university or directly in the host country, also.

Scholarships and Financial Aid
Financial aid does travel with students accepted to go on UW-Eau Claire programs and may increase with program costs. The Center for International Education sends the Financial Aid Office a budget for each program. The budget includes tuition, housing, meals, books, personal expenses, airfare, visa costs, etc.

Students are made aware of local, regional, and national scholarships after acceptance. Visit our Financial Resources page for more information on scholarships and financial aid.

Billing
All payments made to UW-Eau Claire (including the application fee and the acceptance fee) go directly towards the total cost of the program. For fall or spring programs students also make two $300 payments before their final payment. The Cashier’s Office at UW-Eau Claire will email a final bill to students with their remaining program costs due two weeks before the payment deadline.

You can read more about billing and cancellation/refund policies in the Study Abroad Handbook.
