The Chemistry Department office is the nerve center of our department. This is the first place that student and faculty recruits, potential funding agency reps, alumni and visitors see. It is the heart of class scheduling, student employment, accounting, ordering and other administrative tasks by our wonderful program assistant Patricia Jenneman. In the past, office furniture has consisted of mismatched 60's era surplus furniture. In short we looked more like a muffler shop than a professional operation; certainly not like one of the top undergraduate chemistry departments in the country! Please note that Chair Scott Hartsel did not do this for his benefit; he still has the surplus funtiture in his cinderblock cublicle!! Your gifts helped us leverage the funds we needed to make this important and long delayed improvement.
