FOCUS 2 is a self-paced, online career and education planning tool for college students that is designed to help you make decisions about future career goals and education plans. FOCUS 2 provides five self-assessments to help you identify your top work interests, values, skills, personality type, and leisure time interests and explore occupations and major areas of study compatible with your personal attributes.  Students use FOCUS 2 to help choose or change their major and also to verify their choice of a career field.

Card Sorts 

Help you explore majors, occupations and skills depending on the interests of the person. There are several types of card sorts available at Career Services including:

Strong Interest Inventory

Compares your responses on a variety of questions (what subjects you like, what activities you enjoy, what types of people you like to be with, what occupations you feel positively about) to the answers of people of different types and occupations. It then provides you information about:

  • Your overall interest patterns and orientation to work
  • How your profile compares to that of people in 109 occupations
  • How you like to learn, work, assume leadership and take risks.
The Strong requires a counselor referral and there is fee.*

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator

Measures the four dimensions of one’s personal style. This can help you understand how you make decisions, the work environment in which you are most comfortable, and which kinds of tasks are learned most easily.
