Keynote Speakers

Brian Carlson

Brian Carlson, President Ambrion
Accounting, 1996

My job is to keep the Ambrion ship headed in the right direction and make sure everyone here has the tools to do their jobs as efficiently and effectively as possible.  I enjoy helping everyone on our team hit their personal and professional goals.

I love building relationships, which is what really got me into this business 15+ years ago. I enjoy showing people how much fun it can be to work with clients, job seekers, and our consultants! Some people in our industry view our business as very transactional, but I always start my day thinking about how I will help someone that day. On my best day I am able to help a candidate, a client and and someone on the Ambrion team!

In addition, I love that no day is the same and knowing that what I will focus on at the beginning of my day will change because I will get a phone call and need to completely shift gears!

When I'm not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my beautiful wife and two children who are 7 and 9, and still think that Dad is cool.  I'm sure everyone in our office would disagree with this assessment, but I am going to enjoy it while I can. As a family we enjoy camping, biking, swimming, and spending time at our cabin. We also find ourselves spending a lot of time watching both hockey and soccer as my children are both really involved in their sports. If I am not with my family, I can probably be found mountain biking, playing golf, or playing hockey.

My favorite quote is: "Attitude. The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think, say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play the one string we have, and that is our attitude… I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.

And so it is with you… we are in charge of our Attitudes." -Charles Swindoll

 Brian J

Brian Johnson, Partner, Katapult Network

Theater Arts, 2004

I love helping clients find great talent and I also love the ability to make lasting relationships with both clients and candidates. This led to Brian Carlson and I launching Katapult Network in 2015. At Katapult Network, we look to connect recent college graduates and emerging professionals with the Twin Cities’ top employers.

Another great part of my role is that I get to work with a very collaborative and supportive team at Katapult Network. We pull together on assignments to make sure we can deliver the best results for our clients and candidates.

Outside of work, I like to spend time with my wife Denise and my daughter Harper. I also enjoy collecting and then selling antiques and vintage treasures. I’d like to consider myself to be a bit of an amateur “Picker.” However, my wife would refer to me as a professional hoarder.

My favorite quote is: “It is what it is.”  – David Johnson (Dad).   Growing up my dad would say this to us almost daily and it really seems to resonate in the highs and lows of recruiting. Sometimes things just happen completely out of your control and it’s always important to pick yourself up and keep moving forward.

 Jana Greenfield

Jana Greenfield, Manager of Operations & Social Media, Ambrion & Katapult Network

Journalism and Political Science, 2003

My role at Ambrion & Katapult Network is to help candidates and hiring managers find us. With the help of social media and other digital assets, I seek to connect people searching for their next opportunity or perfect candidate with the right avenue to get introduced to us. As the Manager of Operations and Social Media, I get to figure out how people want to interact with us, when they want to interact with us, and how we can be most useful in their career search or hiring experience.

The best thing about working at Ambrion & Katapult Network is the supportive environments we work in. We are truly a team working together to match amazing talent with their career goals. When something great happens in the office, everyone congratulates their co-worker on their achievement.

If I’m not in the office, in the winter you’ll find me curled up with a book and at least one of our two dogs. In the summer, I’m on a boat in Minnesota or Wisconsin with my husband and family. My favorite quote is:

“I didn’t always know what I wanted to do, but I knew the kind of woman I wanted to be.” – Diane Von Furstenberg
