Visit Handshake to request on-campus interviews
You can request an interview directly in Handshake. We will follow up with you if we have any additional questions, and then approve your interview request in Handshake.
How far in advance should interviews be scheduled?
You are encouraged to schedule interviews as early as possible so students will have the appropriate lead time to submit their resume to you. If you are interviewing on-campus, this will also give you the best selection of dates. Dates can be scheduled a semester in advance. However, a four to six week lead time is required for all interview schedules.
How does pre-selecting candidates work?
Preselecting allows you to choose who you want to interview on campus, much as you would through your organization's application process. Applicants can request an interview with you through Handshake and their application materials will be available for you to review. You can choose students in Handshake. The accepted students will select an interview timeslot in Handshake.
What is a typical On-Campus Recruiting Day?
- 30-minute interview schedules begin at 8:30 and end at 4:15 with lunch from 11:45-1:00 and a 15-minute break at 10:00 and 2:30. There are 12 appointment times available in this schedule.
- 45-minute interview schedules begin at 8:30 and end at 4:15 with lunch from 11:45-1:00 and a 15-minute break at 10:00 and 2:30. There are 8 appointment times available in this schedule.
- 60-minute interview schedules begin at 8:00 and end at 4:15 with lunch from 12:15-1:00 and a 15 minute break at 10:00 and 3:00 . There are 7 appointment times available in this schedule.
What about Pre-Interview Meetings or On-Campus Employer Information Sessions?

What about parking?
Visitors to campus must stop at the Visitor Center (located at the corner of Roosevelt and Park Aves.) Our office will reserve one parking space for each organization until 9 am on the day of the interview unless previous arrangements are made. Recruiters may pick up their Guest Permit at the Visitor Center.
If more than one parking space is needed, a Guest Permit may be obtained by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 715-836-6018. Parking and no parking areas are posted throughout the campus. Vehicles parked in fire zone, expired meters, roadways and loading areas are subject to fines.
What if I am preselecting candidates from the career conference?
If you are preselecting candidates from a career event, make sure your recruiters are aware interviews are scheduled through Handshake. We will provide specific directions to the employers who are interviewing the day following the fair. For all other days, be sure to have any students you are interested in interviewing request an interview in Handshake.
