Blugold CareerLink is a database of jobs and internships that are posted by employers specifically looking for students and graduates of UW-Eau Claire and other UW system schools. In addition, all on-campus interviews with employers who are recruiting our students for jobs and internships are scheduled using Blugold CareerLink. Lifetime membership is $30.

1. How can I purchase Blugold CareerLink?
Purchase online or visit Schofield 230.
2. How soon after I purchase Blugold CareerLink will I have access to the system?
If you purchase Blugold CareerLink in our office, you should have access within the hour. If you purchase it online, you should have access within 1 business day (i.e., if you purchase at 9:00 pm on a Thursday, you will get access on Friday). If you purchased Blugold CareerLink and after 2 business days you do not have access, please call 715-836-5358 or email us at email@example.com and we will look into it.
3. Do I have to post a resume on Blugold CareerLink to find jobs and internships?
No, you can begin searching for jobs and internships as soon as you complete your profile. If the position application instructions ask that you apply through BCL or if you are applying for an on-campus interview through BCL you must upload a resume.
4. Why must I pay for Blugold CareerLink?
There are costs associated with the system including a yearly charge to use the software and staff to approve the postings and manage the system. Other UW campuses include a fee in their tuition to cover these costs which UW Eau Claire does not do.
5. What is the difference between Blugold CareerLink and Blugold CareerNetwork?
Blugold CareerLink is a database of internships and jobs to which UW-Eau Claire students and alum can apply. Blugold Career Network is a database of alumni and friends of the university who are interested in helping students learn more about career paths.
6. What is the benefit of using Blugold CareerLink instead of other job search sites?
Career Services has developed relationships with many of the employers who post positions on the site. We make every attempt to ensure that the positions posted are appropriate for college students and are being posted by reputable employers.
7. Can I get an email reminder of newly posted jobs or internships?
Yes. You can tell the system to send you emails based on search criteria you have provided. Any new postings that match your criteria will be emailed to you each night.
8. What if my email has changed since I last logged into Blugold CareerLink?
Call Career Services at 715-836-5358 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to notify us of your new email address.
9. Is Blugold CareerLink beneficial if I already graduated?
Yes. Many of the employers who post positions for our current students also post positions looking for alumni with experience. They know the quality of our alumni and have established a relationship with our campus and Career Services.

10. How do I apply for a position in Blugold CareerLink?
Follow the Application Instructions on the job posting in Blugold CareerLink. Some positions will allow you to send your documents to the employer through Blugold CareerLink. For other jobs, you will apply directly to the employer.
11. Are the jobs and internships posted on BCL only located in Wisconsin?
No, positions posted on BCL are local, statewide, national, and international.
12. What is the difference between the historical and active database?
The active database lists positions that are currently available. The historical database lets you review positions which were filled in the past and can give you an overview of employers in which you may be interested.
13. Where do I find on-campus jobs and other part time jobs?
On-campus and part time jobs are posted on the Financial Aid job board at http://www.uwec.edu/finaid/employment/jobboard.htm.
14. Are there jobs and internships for all majors in Blugold CareerLink?
Yes. All majors are represented in the postings for jobs and internships in Blugold CareerLink. Depending on the time of year, there will be different types of jobs and internships available.
15. Who can view my resume?
If you choose "Yes" on your profile, employers who are registered with Blugold CareerLink are able to view your default resume. If you choose "No"on your profile, only Career Services staff will be able to view your default resume. No one else will have access to your information.
16. What does the employer see when viewing my profile?
Employers willbe able to view your default resume and the information in your profile, if you have enabled 'Allow Employer Viewing. '
17. Where do I get an unofficial/official transcript?
Unofficial transcripts can be obtained through Blugold CAMPS. You can obtain transcripts from the Registrar's office website.
On Campus Interview Questions
18.How much notice will I get from employers to signup for an on-campusinterview?
This depends on the employer. If you are selected for an interview you will receive an email inviting you to sign up for an interview time. You will need to accept or decline theinvitation no later than 48 hours prior to the interview date. The sooner you select a time, the better selections of time you will have.
If you wish to decline the interview, please do so as soon as possible in order to allow another student the opportunity to interview.
At any time during this process you may log in to BCL and view your interview statusunder "My Account, My Activity."
19. If I sign up for an on-campus interview through BCL, what should I do if my schedule changes and I can no longer make the interview?
If it is more than 48 hours prior to the interview date, you can decline the interview through Blugold CareerLink. If that option is not available,contact Career Services at 715-836-5358 as soon as possible.
Opening up the interview timeas soon as possible makes it possible for another student to get on the interview schedule. If an emergency arises and you must cancel an interview within 48 hours prior to the interview date, call Career Services at 836-5358 or stop in the office, Schofield 230 as soon as possible.
20. What if I miss an on-campus interview?
Contact Career Services at 715-836-5358 or email Career03@uwec.edu. You will be instructed to send a letter of apology to the recruiter and submit it to Career Services. We will forward the letter to the employer.
21. Why do I have to send a letter to an employer if I cannot make my on-campus interview?
You never know when you may need to contact the employer in the future or may want to apply for another position with them. It is in your best interest to maintain a professional relationship with employers and Career Services. It also helps the employer maintain a positive relationship with UW-Eau Claire so they will continue to recruit UW-Eau Claire students.
22. What do I do if I miss the deadline to sign up for an on-campusinterview?

23. Why should I pay a $30 fee to interview on campus?
Employers use Blugold CareerLink to arrange and facilitate on-campus interviews. Therefore you must be registered to participate in interviews. The fee will give you access to interviews as well as lifetime access to this job and internship database.
