On Campus Interviewing

On-campus interviews offer an excellent way to connect with employers seeking to fill internship and full-time positions. Interviews typically take place every fall (from October – November) and spring (from February – April).

In order to participate in on-campus interviews you’ll need to register with Blugold Careerlink. Blugold CareerLink is our on-line scheduling system. It is available day-and-night, seven-days-a-week. You can see which companies are scheduled to visit campus, view their position listings, submit your resume, sign up for interviews, research the companies and print your interview schedule from any computer with Internet access.

Job Listings
Job listings for each company conducting campus interviews will be posted on our Web site. These listings include:

* Brief company description
* Description of the job duties
* Job Requirements
* Types of materials required by the employer, i.e.: cover letter, resume, transcripts, etc.
* Deadlines for submission of materials

Listings change by the hour, so be sure to check the system often. Oftentimes, employers request additional materials such as an application, unofficial transcript or cover letter. Additional materials, including a resume, must be submitted by the deadline.

Types of Interview Schedules

There are two types of on-campus interview schedules:

Open Interview Schedules: As the name suggests these schedules are open to students who meet the specific requirements of the position listing. Apply directly online.

Pre-select Interview Schedules: For this type of schedule you must submit your resume and wait for the employer’s decision before you can sign-up for an interview.

Employer decisions on pre-select interviews are labeled as follows:

  • Accepted: the employer has accepted your application and you may sign-up for an interview within the time period indicated.
  • Alternate: the employer has accepted you as an alternate for an interview.
  • Undecided: the employer has yet to make a decision on your application.
  • Declined: the employer has declined your application for an interview.

The Interview

On the day of your interview, please arrive at least 10 minutes in advance of your interview time and check in at the front desk. This will give you time to complete any required paperwork and time to relax before your interview.

All interviews are held in Career Services, Schofield 230 (unless otherwise noted).

Tip: Visit the calendar of events to see which employers are coming to campus for on-campus interviews and associated events (i.e. informational sessions) – a great way to informally connect with employers.
