Dr. Larry Solberg, who currently serves as the Associate Dean of the College of Education and Human Sciences, joined our faculty in 1993.  He earned baccalaureate and master's degrees in communication disorders here at UW - Eau Claire.  After working in a variety of health care settings, he attended Florida State University and earned his doctorate in speech pathology in 1990.  He taught for three years at Kansas State University before returning to UW - Eau Claire.  From 2000 through 2005 he served as chair of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Dr. Solberg's areas of interest and expertise include voice and resonance disorders, adult dysphagia, and acquired cognitive-communication disorders.  Currently he is conducting research dealing with the acoustic analysis of dysphonia and the influence of thermal-gustatory stimulation on swallowing.
