Ms. Collins joined the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders as a part-time academic staff member in the fall of 2001. She completed her baccalaureate degree at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in Secondary Education-Communication Disorders and her master's degree at Washington State University in Speech and Hearing Sciences. Before joining the department, she worked as a public school speech-language pathologist in the State of Washington and Texas and as a classroom teacher for a multihandicapped program in Michigan. She currently provides speech-language services for Dove Healthcare and Rehabilitation on a casual basis. Areas of interest include, speech and language development and disorders, childhood assessment, and augmentative communication.

Shannon currently provides supervision of graduate and undergraduate student clinicians and supervision of general diagnostics on campus.
