Chinese Nurse Educator Visits College


HelenThis spring the College of Nursing and Health Science welcomes Visiting Nurse Scholar Gong Hairong (Helen) from the Fujian Health College located in Fuzhou, China. This visit will give Gong Hairong an opportunity to experience curriculum, simulation and research approaches employed within our college. Her visit will also expand the cultural understanding within CONHS and deepen education connections for faculty and students.

Ms. Gong is currently the Director of the Fundamental Nursing Department at Fujian Health College where more than 7,000 students are enrolled studying medicine, pharmaceutics, nursing, medical technology or health management. Her research focus is clinical rehabilitation, nursing skills, and simulation. While on campus, she hopes to focus on research related to dementia and Alzheimer’s. Ms. Gong also plans to learn about hospitals and other community health care. She will be visiting sites in Eau Claire and in Marshfield.
