Wisconsin Center for Nursing forum held on campus


A free educational forum sponsored by the Wisconsin Center for Nursing was held at the Davies Center, Thursday, July 24, 2014. Nurses Leading the IOM Report in Wisconsin: Pathways, Progress, & Potential offered participants an opportunity to hear about the progress in Wisconsin related to the Institute of Medicine's Future of Nursing Report and the work of the Wisconsin Center for Nursing Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant, Taking the LEAD for Nursing in Wisconsin Leadership, Educational Advancement & Diversity.

Nurses, educators, students, and key stakeholders were invited to attend.

Presentations included an update on the current status of the nursing workforce in Wisconsin from survey data compiled by the Wisconsin Center for Nursing and activities related to grant focus areas of educational advancement, leadership, and diversity. In addition, there was a training session offered which focused on leadership development for nurses to prepare them to serve on governing Boards.
