The College of Nursing and Health Sciences invites you to explore the degrees offered by the Department of Nursing.
With our emphasis on promoting the health and well-being of our communities, we offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in Nursing.
We strive to develop leaders and clinicians who will be successful in strengthening and building the health and well-being of our communities. Our students receive practical experience in many different settings including clinics, long term care facilities, hospitals, retirement communities, jails and detention centers, free clinics, surgery centers, schools, and churches. In addition, we provide clinical immersion opportunities in culturally diverse regions as we strive to expand interdisciplinary quality health care for the underserved in our communities.

Dr. Susan Moch to be Inducted into Academy of Nursing Education

Dr. Angela Stombaugh New Director for Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning

Dr. Stombaugh, associate professor of nursing and a nurse practitioner on staff at the Student Health Service at UW-Eau Claire, will begin July 1 in her post as CETL director. She will serve a three-year term.

The Identifying, Recruiting, and Retaining Nurse Educators proposal submitted by Dean Young and Dr. Susan Moch has been funded by the UW-System. It enables UW Baccalaureate/Graduate Nursing program representatives to gather to address the nurse educator shortage.
2013 Scholarship and Awards Dinner

Over 130 participants attended the 2013 Scholarship Awards Dinner where nearly 90,000 dollars in educational scholarships were presented to students who exhibit leadership, potential, demonstrate strong academic abilities and are active in community and professional organizations.

College receives 3M™ Littmann Electronic Stethoscopes

While in China, Dean Young met with Kenneth Yu, president of 3M China. As a result of their conversation, Mr. Yu donated three stethoscopes to the nursing program. The stethoscopes support telemedicine by recording and transmitting patient sound tracks via Bluetooth® technology.

Students Provide Health Screenings to Immigrant Farm Workers

Sister Joel Jacobi, OSF, celebrates her 75th Jubilee as a Hospital Sister of St. Francis, June 2013. The Jubilee marks the anniversary when a Sister makes First Profession of Vows. Sister Joel served as an Assistant Professor of Nursing, UW-Eau Claire from 1967-1968, 1970-1995.
