The UW-Eau Claire Department of Nursing's Marshfield site is located on the first floor of the South building in Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital. Sophomore, junior, senior, and graduate level Nursing courses are offered to students who have been accepted into UW-Eau Claire's Nursing programs.
Pre-nursing course prerequisites can be earned at a variety of institutions. It is essential for students to confirm that the courses earned at institutions other than UW-Eau Claire will transfer into UW-Eau Claire as equivalent courses.
Undergraduate program plans have been developed for three campuses in the Marshfield area: UW-Stevens Point (a four-year institution), UW-Marshfield/Wood County (a two-year institution), and UW-Marathon County (a two-year institution). Following one of these programs ensures students will meet the required nursing prerequisite courses. The program plans are developed for full-time study; however, part-time program plans can be developed.
Students at the Marshfield site receive the same, high-quality education as those enrolled in nursing courses on Eau Claire campus. Courses are taught by faculty located in Marshfield as well as faculty located on the main UW-Eau Claire campus. Both the Eau Claire and Marshfield sites utilize updated, interactive distance education technologies to facilitate simultaneous instruction in the classrooms.
In addition to the distance education classrooms, the Marshfield site offers students the opportunity to use the site's computer labs, clinical skills lab, student lounge area, video-conference rooms, group collaboration areas, and the Ministry Saint Joseph Hospital Nursing Learning Resource Center (LRC). Approximately 80 students are enrolled in traditional BSN courses at the Marshfield site.
