Students in the Advanced Professional Sales class satisfy the university’s service-learning graduation requirement by using their sales skills to raise money for a local non-profit.
In 2012, for example, students raised $33,000 in entry fees and prize donations for the annual L.E. Phillips Career Development Center golf outing.
Students interested in sales complete a marketing major with a professional sales emphasis from the UW-Eau Claire Department of Management and Marketing. The 60-credit major prepares students for careers in sales by helping them develop competence in oral persuasion skills, proposal preparation, negotiating, relationship management, and sales force management.
Details of the major can be found on the Department of Management and Marketing website.
