UW-Eau Claire AMA to host spring Midwest conference

AMA“Developing Young Professionals for the Future” is the theme for the spring Midwest conference hosted by the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire student chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA), Saturday, February 15. The event, which will be held in the UW-Eau Claire Davies Center from 8 am to 3 pm, is also open to all UW-Eau Claire students. Students are encouraged to register online at www.uwecama.org.

"We are very excited to host students from the Midwest region," said Megan Lipari, AMA student chapter vice president. "It's been many years since this conference has been held at UW-Eau Claire. We are looking forward to a day full of networking and learning."

Throughout the day students will listen to speakers from a variety of businesses including the Milwaukee Bucks, PepsiCo, and SPECK Media, a social media marketing firm located in the Chicago area. Students will also be able to compete for cash prizes in two different events: a sales competition sponsored by Sherwin Williams, will take place in the morning; and the perfect elevator pitch competition, a 60 second overview of an individual's knowledge, skills, and accomplishments, will occur in the afternoon. Other highlights of the conference include a morning Career Conference where students can meet with employers to learn more about internship and career opportunities.
