Jan Stewart to retire
University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire MBA program associate Jan Stewart will retire August 1, 2013 after 21 years of service.
Stewart, who joined the university in 1992, has been a vital member of the on-campus MBA program staff and the MBA consortium program staff since 1998.
From the first call of a prospective student to the day that student graduates, Stewart has been there to answer questions, aid in registration, negotiate program changes. And she's always the proudest face at the graduation reception, as if each individual student were her absolute favorite.
"For the past 15 years, Jan has been the MBA program's first point of contact," said Dr. Robert Erffmeyer, director, UW-Eau Claire MBA Program. "Jan loved working with students and it showed. She knew every student by name, she understood their needs. Although not as visible as someone who is in front of the class, Jan's contribution to the program was just as important. Everyone—faculty and students—will miss her."
In addition to working in the MBA program, Stewart has worked on the UW-Eau Claire campus as a program assistant for the business college, entrepreneur program, and international business program. She began her career at UW-Eau Claire as the college’s research secretary.
