Participants brave weather at AMA Fun Run; raise money for St. Jude’s
Over 120 participants braved the 39 degree weather to blade, run, or walk at the 31st Annual Fun Run 5K organized by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire student chapter of the American Marketing Association. The race was held Saturday, April 13, 2013 in Carson Park.

Kaitlin Nix, AMA student chapter president, was happy with the turnout.
“It was great to see so many students and community members come together to help out a great cause, especially through the poor weather conditions,” said Nix.
The theme of this year’s race was “Run for a Life.” All the proceeds from the event benefitted St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The UW-Eau Claire student organization raised $1,950 in corporate sponsorships and another $2,375 in registration fees.
“We are proud of all the hard work we put into organizing the Fun Run,” said Brianna Butler, AMA vice president of corporate sponsorships. “But we couldn’t pull off this great event without our sponsors.” See sidebar for a list of 2013 sponsors.
In addition to the race, AMA organized a post-race celebration for people of all ages that included music, food, and a chance to win raffle prizes.
