Meet Aimee Lapacinski
“Aimee is very goal-driven,” said Dr. Scott Lester, UW-Eau Claire professor of management. “She successfully balanced going to school with raising a family, working, and being involved in extracurriculars when possible.”
Lapacinski, who transferred to UW-Eau Claire from UW-Barron County, graduated magna cum laude from UW-Barron County with an associate of arts and sciences degree and a certificate in business. As a student at UW-Barron County, Lapacinski was president of the Student Government Association and a member of Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society that recognizes the academic achievements of students from two-year colleges. She was also a math tutor, commencement host and member of the library director search committee.
She continued her education at UW-Eau Claire where she chose a major in human relations management. At UW-Eau Claire, Lapacinski was a member of the Society for Human Resources Management and Beta Gamma Sigma, an international honor society for business students and scholars. She completed two human resources management internships with Rice Lake Weighing Systems, where her responsibilities included assisting with web-based recruiting, researching performance management software, transcribing employee files, and streamlining and updating safety presentation.
In addition, Lapacinski spent a summer as the business manager for the L.E. Phillips Boy Scout Camp in Haugen, WI. She also is a board member of the Barron Area Montessori School and has helped raise money for the annual Barnebirkie cross country ski race for children.
Lapacinski will graduate magna cum laude in May 2013 with a bachelor in business administration degree in human resources management and a certificate in leadership studies. She has accepted a full-time position in human resource management with Rice Lake Weighing Systems.
“Aimee is a joy to be around,” said Lester. “Her interpersonal skills are fabulous, she interacts in a way that is both professional as well as putting the other party at ease. We are proud to have Aimee represent the department!”
