UW-Eau Claire Sales Team ends successful year with 4th place finish at Western States Collegiate Sales Competition

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Sales Team ended a successful 2012–13 academic year by placing 4th at the 9th Annual Western States Collegiate Sales Competition. The event, held on April 20, 2013, was hosted by California State University, Chico. Eleven universities participated in the sales competition. See sidebar.
First place went to California State University, Chico. California State, Fullerton came in 2nd and Ball State took 3rd.
Representing UW-Eau Claire were Kellen Busey, a senior professional sales marketing major from Rochester, MN and Charles Truttman, a senior professional sales marketing major from Suring, WI. Jerry Kollross, Department of Management and Marketing, is the faculty coach for the sales team.
“This final competition wraps up a very successful year for our sales team,” said Kollross. “We attended every sales competition in the country the past two semesters—no other school can make that claim. Not only did we rack up some frequent flyer miles as a team, but we also showed sales programs and employers around the country that UW-Eau Claire students have some serious selling skills.”

Results: 1st: University of Louisiana at Lafayette, 2nd: Texas State University, 3rd: Elon University, 4th: Florida State University, 5th: University of Toledo. UW-Eau Claire finished 18th.
Indiana University at Bloomington National Team Selling Competition

Competition results: 1st: University of Washington. UW-Eau Claire finished 16th.

Northern Illinois World Collegiate Sales Open Finals

Results: All UW-Eau Claire team members successfully completed the first two phone calls and advanced to the third sales calls. Nicole Foyt was selected as a Top 20 finalist. She advanced to the championship competition where she placed 11th overall.
Kennesaw State University National Collegiate Sales Competition
March 1–4, 2013
Results: 7th Place Runner-Up: UW-Eau Claire. Missy Erickson from UW-Eau Claire finished 6th.
