UW-Eau Claire Marketing Analytics Day "Big Data, Big Opportunities" to be held April 11

The second annual Marketing Analytics Day will be held Thursday, April 11, 2013 on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire campus. Analytics professionals from eight companies will visit marketing classes throughout the day to discuss how their organizations use marketing analytics to make better informed decisions.

What is marketing analytics?

Marketing analytics uses statistical analysis and technology to make sense of the growing stream of data generated by marketing programs, social media and websites, ad campaigns, and sales. This information is used by decision makers to identify the most profitable customers, influence purchasing behavior, optimize the marketing mix, and calculate profitability.

Other highlights of the day include

  • A keynote presentation by Gerry Yeo, Retail Industry Principal for SAP, from 11 am–12 noon in Schneider 313. Yeo will present, “Marketing Analytics: Big Data, Big Opportunities.” » RSVP to the keynote presentation
  • Best practices sessions at 12:30 pm and 2 pm. Participants will be able to view and use actual databases and analysis tools. Both sessions will be held in Schneider 203.
  • The Marketing Analytics Day Forum and Target Marketing Analytics Enrichment Scholarship Presentation will take place from 3:30–5:00 pm in Hibbard 102. Panel members include Lynn Dean, VP, Group Client Director, Nielsen; Jennine Fox, Senior Internet Marketing Specialist, Mason Co.; Adam Mallek,Business Analyst, Target Stores; and Emily Rogers, Research Director, MECLABS. The panel will be moderated by Dr. Joe Bonner. The 2013–14 Target marketing analytics scholarship recipients will also be announced at this event. » RSVP to the forum

Other speakers include Ryan Lewandowski, Director of Internet Marketing, Ackmann & Dickenson; Ian Novak, Category Development Analyst, CH Robinson; and Amber Theeuwen, US Marketing Manager, Hardware.com.

Students, faculty and the public are invited to attend as many sessions as their schedule permits.
