Attend the 55th Career Conference

Career ConferenceThe 55th Annual University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Career Conference is just around the corner. This year’s conference will be held Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 10 am-3 pm in the ballroom of the new Davies Center. The UW-Eau Claire Career Conference is co-sponsored by Beta Upsilon Sigma, a student business fraternity, and Career Services.

Career Conference is great place for freshmen and sophomore business students to practice networking skills, learn about career options, and discover which companies recruit on campus. Junior and senior students use the fair to make preliminary contacts with employers for internships or permanent employment after graduation. These contacts can be followed up with more formal interviews either on or off campus. Approximately 100 organizations, including accounting firms, businesses, graduate schools, and state and federal agencies, participate in the conference each year.

Meet recruiters at the pre-conference reception. The College of Business is hosting a pre-conference reception for recruiters, students and faculty, Wednesday, September 26 from 7-9 pm in the Davies Center Dakota Ballroom. Light refreshments will be served. There will be a cash bar. The reception is free and open to recruiters attending Career Conference and all UW-Eau Claire students, faculty and staff. Participants are asked to pre-registration for the event.

Get resume and networking tips prior to Career Conference. Career Services will conduct three workshops prior to the big event.  

Resume and Cover Letter Development workshop

  • Tuesday, September 11 at 12 noon in Hibbard Hall 232.
  • Thursday, September 20th at 3:15 pm in Schneider Hall Room 313 (repeat session).

Career Fair Success workshop

  • Tuesday, September 18 at 3:15 in Schneider Hall Room 313.  

Each session is 50 minutes. Advanced registration is not required.
