UW-Eau Claire employment opportunity: assistant professor of accounting
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Department of Accounting and Finance is searching for a probationary tenure track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in accounting.
Applicants will teach courses in accounting as assigned by the department, participate in research and scholarly activities consistent with AACSB International expectations, provide academic advising to students as assigned, and engage in service to the department, university, profession and community.
The position will begin August 19, 2013.
Candidates for the position must have completed a doctorate in accounting or related field by May 31, 2014. Professional certification (CPA, CMA), evidence of scholarly activity and relevant work experience are all considered assets. Applicants should demonstrate capacity for high quality teaching (as evidenced by teaching evaluations if available).

About the Department
The Department of Accounting and Finance offers comprehensive undergraduate majors in both accounting and finance. The department consists of 16 full-time and nine part-time members serving 475 accounting majors and 250 finance majors. In addition to the outstanding academic preparation provided by our classroom instruction, hundreds of our students study abroad and/or complete internships prior to graduation. All students are required to participate in VITA, service learning and the student professional development program as part of their degree.
Faculty in the department also provide instruction for the college’s Master of Business Administration degree program, which is offered online and on-campus in the evening. The program, which is designed for working adults, gives students a broad practical understanding of business and the dynamic global environment in which it operates.
The Department of Accounting and Finance is one of four academic units in the College of Business. The college, which serves 2,200 students and graduate approximately 800 students per academic year, offers comprehensive majors in accounting, business administration, business economics, finance, information systems, health care administration, international business, management, and marketing. The college is accredited by AACSB International.
