About the PSE Pro-Am Sell-A-Thon®

The PSE Pro-Am Sell-A-Thon® is a year-long sales competition held at the five PSE fall regional conferences and the annual PSE NEF national convention. Students can compete at the fall regional Sell-a-Thon and/or the national one. Either way, students engage in the following activities:

  • Students are given licensed materials from Miller Heiman, a sales training company and PSE Pro-Am Sell-A-Thon® sponsor, to review. This material includes The Miller Heiman Sales System® overview and eLearning sessions, and corresponding workbooks.
  • After reviewing the required materials, students make a telephone call requesting an appointment with a company buyer.
  • Students make a live sales presentation to a buyer at the regional and/or national convention. This is a simulated sales presentation in which each student is evaluated on his/her ability to successfully move the customer through the sales process and obtain commitment.
  • Students are asked to respond to a Request for Proposal (RFP) which they submit to the buyer.

In each of these activities, students receive points for their efforts. After the National Convention sales call, points are added to determine the national PSE Pro-Am Sell-a-Thon® winners.
