UW-Eau Claire business students head to New Orleans for AMA International Collegiate Conference
Six University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire business students will be attending the 34th Annual American Marketing Association International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans, March 22-24, 2012.
- Kacie Besser, a junior marketing analytics major from Sauk Rapids, MN
- Patrick Connelly, a junior professional sales marketing major from Edina, MN.
- Karen Dahl, a junior organizational communication major from Appleton, WI
- Christina Kubitschek, a senior marketing major from Shoreview, MN
- Mitchel Lang, a junior marketing student from Le Center, MN
- Kaitlin Nix, a junior marketing major from Osseo, WI.
The UW-Eau Claire case team consisting of Kacie Besser, Patrick Connelly, Mitchel Lang and Kaitlin Nix is one of ten teams selected to compete in the final round of the 2012 AMA International Collegiate Case Competition, Thursday, March 22nd. The UW-Eau Claire students will present their integrated marketing communication plan for Prepare, Pearson Learning Solutions’ new service concept that will offer home schooled and pre-college students the opportunity to take online, self-paced introductory and general education courses.
The UW-Eau Claire chapter will pick up two national awards for their work on the 2011-2012 Collegiate AMA SavesLives Project: a 5th place award in the Facebook activity, and a 5th place award for the fall 2011 video competition. The Collegiate AMASavesLives Project raises awareness for organ donation through campus and community events, online videos, and social media.
Winners of the Pearson Case Competition and the various AMASavesLives events will be recognized at the Competition Ceremony, Friday, March 23rd.
On Saturday, March 24th, Christina Kubitschek will compete in the Northwestern Mutual Sales Competition. Karen Dahl will be Kubitschek’s buyer for the 10 minute role play. Winners of the sale competition as well as recipients of student, adviser and chapter awards will be announced at the Awards Banquet Saturday evening.
