The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire American Marketing Association (AMA) case team has made it to the finals of the 2011-2012 AMA Case Competition, according to Dr. Scott Swanson, associate professor of marketing and faculty coach for the group.
The case competition will be held at the 34th Annual AMA International Collegiate Conference, which will be held March 22-24, 2012 in New Orleans, LA.
Members of the UW-Eau Claire 2011-2012 AMA case competition team are as follows:
- Kacie Besser, a junior marketing analytics major from Sauk Rapids, MN
- Patrick Connelly, a junior marketing major from Edina, MN
- Mitchel Lang, a junior management major and marketing minor from Le Center, MN
- Autum Miller, a senior graphic design major and marketing minor from Appleton, WI
- Kaitlin Nix, a junior marketing major from Osseo, WI.
The AMA Case Competition is a yearlong event that brings together top marketing students to work on a marketing challenge submitted by a sponsoring organization. This year’s case required teams to develop an integrated marketing communications plan for Prepare, Pearson Learning Solutions’ new service concept which is set to launch in fall 2012.
“The UW-Eau Claire team worked very hard this past fall conducting research and developing their strategies,” according to Swanson. “We will be meeting every week this spring semester to prepare a winning presentation.”
In addition to UW-Eau Claire, other universities selected to compete in the case competition finals include the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Hofstra University, Portland State University, University of Arizona, and University of Pennsylvania.
The AMA Case Competition is open to undergraduate teams at universities that have an affiliated AMA collegiate chapter. For more information about the UW-Eau Claire AMA chapter, contact AMA president Chrissy Kubitschek at firstname.lastname@example.org or view the chapter website.
