UW-Eau Claire APICS chapter wins Platinum Circle Award

APICS Platinum Circle Award

(from l to r): Tom Buckli, Logistics/Distribution Center Manager, Cascades Tissue Group-WI; with senior UW-Eau Claire operations materials management majors Amanda Nussbaum and Joe Kessem. Buckli is president of the Clearwater APICS chapter. Nussbaum and Kessem are both VPs of the UW-Eau Claire APICS student chapter.

The Clearwater Professional Chapter of APICS—The Association for Operations Management presented the Platinum Circle Award and a check for $275 to the UW-Eau Claire student chapter of APICS at the APICS Professional Dinner, Tuesday, November 27.

The Platinum Circle Award demonstrates a student chapter’s dedication to providing exemplary services and professional development opportunities to its members in five critical areas: administration, education, programs, membership and public relations. To earn the Platinum Circle Award, a student chapter must receive a Gold Circle award for five consecutive years.

The Platinum Circle Award is the most prestigious award an APICS student chapter can receive, according to Theresa Wells, UW-Eau Claire student chapter adviser. Less than 10% of the 200 student chapters throughout the nation win this award. The UW-Eau Claire APICS chapter has received the Platinum Award every year since 2000.
