UW-Eau Claire Business Faculty Demonstrate Global Business Proficiency
Dr. Nancy Hanson-Rasmussen, Department of Management and Marketing, and Dr. Ling Liu, Department of Accounting and Finance, recently passed the NASBITE Certified Global Business Practitioner (CGBP) examination coordinated and administered by NASBITE International, the National Association of Small Business International Trade Educators.
The NASBITE CGBP designation certifies that an individual is competent in four primary areas: global business management, global marketing, supply chain management, and trade finance. A candidate for CGBP must pass the CGBP exam and have completed two-years of college-level study or worked in global commerce for two years. Only 71% of the individuals who take the exam pass it, according to the NASBITE website.
“CGBP certification gives our faculty added credibility and enhances the quality of our international business programs,” said Dr. Rama Yelkur, UW-Eau Claire College of Business coordinator for international business programs. Yelkur, who was CGBP certified in 2009, was the first faculty member in the business college to obtain this certification.
NASBITE International seeks to advance global business practices, education and training. The organization's members include global business educators and trainers at academic institutions; trade specialists at federal, state and local organizations, and global business practitioners.
