Career Services event recognized by national college employment association
Career Services at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has been awarded the 2011 Innovation Excellence Award in Student Engagement by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). The award was given for Career Services' annual Explore Your Possibilities Week, coordinated by Jesica Witte, career development coordinator, and Sue Ayres, information resources manager. It was presented to Witte and Staci Heidtke, associate director of Career Services, June 2 at the annual NACE convention in Dallas, Texas.
Explore Your Possibilities is a weeklong conference, which includes more than 50 career development sessions presented by internal and external professionals. The goal is to reach first- and second-year students with a wide variety of declared majors and those exploring majors. Early career exploration topics are part of many sessions, educating students about the importance of early career exploration and planning.
The 2011 Explore Your Possibilities Week will be held on the UW-Eau Claire campus Oct. 17-21.
NACE is the leading source of information on the employment of college graduates. The professional association connects more than 5,200 college career services professionals at nearly 2,000 colleges and universities nationwide, and more than 3,000 human resources/staffing professionals focused on college relations and recruiting.
