Wells receives student organization adviser award
Theresa Wells, Management and Marketing, was the recipient of the 2011 University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Student Organization Adviser award at the annual University Student Excellence Awards reception. The event, which is sponsored by the UW-Eau Claire Alumni Association, UW-Eau Claire Foundation and University Centers, was held May 5, 2011 in the Davies Center Council Fire Rooms.
Wells is the student organization adviser for APICS-The Association for Operations Management, a volunteer position she has held for 18 years. She has received numerous recognitions for her work with students, including the National APICS Student Chapter Mentor Award in 2004. Wells was nominated for the award by APICS student members Tim Bissen, Ellas Sazama, Cara Shimon, and Katie Smith.
The UW-Eau Claire Student Organization Advisor Award recognizes an organization adviser who takes an active role in empowering and involving students within the organization. Nominees provide outstanding counsel and advice, assist with the development of leadership, direct the business of the organization in a positive and helpful manner, support the ideals of the organization, and serve as a role model for members. The Student Organization Advisor Award is sponsored by a generous anonymous donor. The award recipient receives $250.
