Peterson and Shimon Named 2011 UW-Eau Claire Outstanding Management Majors
University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students Abby Lyn Peterson and Cara Shimon have been recognized for their scholarship, leadership and community service by the management faculty.
Peterson, a human resources management major from Hudson, WI was named the May 2011 UW-Eau Claire Outstanding Management Major. She served as president of the student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management for the 2010-11 academic year. Peterson completed human resource managment internships with OEM Fabricators in Woodville,WI, and the Western Wisconsin Chapter of the American Red Cross in Eau Claire,WI. She was one of nine UW-Eau Claire College of Business students selected for 2010-11 to receive the Outstanding Senior Award and to appear in the 2011 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges. Peterson graduates May 2011.
Shimon, an operations/materials management student from Hudson, WI, was named the December 2011 UW-Eau Claire Outstanding Management Major. She is currently the passport chair for APICS and vice president of member services for DECA. Shimon has also worked as a resident assistant for Housing and Residence Life, and she is currently a campus ambassador for Admissions, and an intern in the Dean of Students Office where she helps coordinate Blugold Beginnings, the university’s pre-collegiate access program. This summer she will complete an internship with Hormel Foods. Shimon will graduate December 2011.
