Enter the Jump-Start Business Plan Competition!

Jump-Start Downtown Eau ClaireHave you always wanted to start your own business? If so, Jump-Start Downtown is a business plan competition for entrepreneurs interested in opening a business in downtown Eau Claire. This competition is open to any type of business—from high-tech office services to specialty gift shops.

Past Jump-Start winners have included: Smiling Moose Deli; Jeff Thompson Photography; Harmony Corner Café; Cadeaux; Isabelle & Co.; Becki’s Mediterranean Olive Salsa; Diamond School of Dance; Dessert First; Willow Creek Women’s Clinic; Body Focus, LLC; Just Local Food Cooperative; and Cafe 420.

Grand Prize: $5,000 start-up capital or $1,000 scholarship for entrepreneurial training through the Small Business Development Center

Eligibility: Participants must be 18 years of age or older and interested in starting a business in Downtown Eau Claire or relocating a business to Downtown Eau Claire. Participants cannot enter a business already located downtown at the time of entry into the competition. Proposed business must open within 12 months of the competition.

To Enter: Participants must submit an application and a business plan for their proposed business to Downtown Eau Claire, Inc. by June 5, 2011.
