UWEC Students, Faculty Visit China

China VisitFifteen University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students, accompanied by Professors Pratt and Hu (pictured here with CG Goldbeck) visited Shaoguan University for two weeks in January, as well as Guangzhou and Beijing.

UWEC students visited Shaoguan University to hear lectures from professors and industry leaders and to make site and cultural visits. On January 16, they visited Guangzhou, where Consul General (and UWEC Alumni) Brian L. Goldbeck and Consular Officer Tyler Rogstad joined the group for lunch and discussion before the group traveled on for a three-day guided visit to sites in Beijing before returning to Wisconsin.

CG Goldbeck lauded the program for bringing together students and faculty members from the U.S. and China, making real connections on a people-to-people basis, and he encouraged increased cooperation between UWEC, Shaoguan, and other Chinese universities.
