College of Business Faculty and Staff to Present at eLearning Conference
Six University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire College of Business faculty and staff members have been invited to share their experiences with others at the 2010 Fusion Desire2Learn Conference, July 11-16 in Chicago. Desire2Learn Incorporated is a leading provider of mission-critical enterprise eLearning solutions.
"Tell Me a Story: Digital Storytelling for Teaching and Learning," a session led by Dr. Paula Lentz, business communication lecturer, and Dr. Nancy Hanson-Rasmussen, management and marketing lecturer, will explore digital storytelling as a means of enhancing course content in face-to-face and online courses. The presentation is under consideration for a Desire2EXCEL award.
"Bells, Whistles, and Shiny Objects," a presentation by instructional specialists Karla Farrell, Catherine Artac, Jessica Franson and Jeri Weiser, will examine a multitude of free or inexpensive Web 2.0 tools that exist on the Internet to help faculty enhance interactivity in courses.
Farrell, Artac and Franson were also nominated for a Desire2EXCEL Innovation award for their development of the UW-Eau Claire College of Business "Essentials of Business" online courses.
The annual Desire2EXCEL Awards Program recognizes the multitude of Desire2Learn users and the leading edge contributions they make toward their respective organizations and the eLearning community.
