UW-Eau Claire PSE Chapter Takes Top Awards at National Convention
The Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE) chapter at UW-Eau Claire won nearly $5000 in awards and scholarships at the 2010 PSE National Educational Foundation Sales & Marketing Convention, held April 7-10, 2010 in Milwaukee, WI.
More than 360 students from over 20 colleges and universities attended the national PSE conference. UW-Eau Claire students participating at the event were Kellen Busey, a freshman marketing student from Rochester, MN; Paul Coates, a sophomore marketing-professional sales major from Oconomowoc, WI; Pat Delehanty, a senior marketing-professional sales student from Verona, WI; Justin Held, a sophomore marketing student from Pewaukee, WI; and Nick Levin, a senior marketing-professional sales student from Eau Claire, WI.
University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire chapter received awards in three of the five events it competed in. The Eau Claire chapter won the Special Merit award for chapter management through adversity, placed second in the Kodak Challenge and was a finalist for Top New Chapter.
UW-Eau Claire senior Pat Delehanty placed first out of 80 student competitors in the Pro-Am-Sell-A-Thon sales competition, an event where students are judged on their ability to find buyer needs, ask questions, and close the sale. Delehanty received $1500 and a custom suit from Tom James valued at $1000. Other UW-Eau Claire students participating in the sales competition were Kellen Busey, Paul Coates and Nick Levin.
Conference attendees also had the opportunity to compete for 29 scholarships, which ranged in value from $500 to $2000. UW-Eau Claire senior Nick Levin was the recipient of a $2000 scholarship from Mach 1 Global Services, a domestic and international freight forwarder based in Phoenix, Arizona.
Pi Sigma Epsilon is the only national, co-ed, professional fraternal organization in sales, marketing, and management.
