UW-Eau Claire Team Competes at National Sales Competition

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire sales team tied for 36th place with Washington State University in Vancouver, at the Twelfth National Collegiate Sales Competition (NCAC) held March 5-8, 2010 at Kennesaw State University. Sixty-one colleges and universities from around the country competed in the undergraduate division schools division.  

Representing UW-Eau Claire were Matthew Beyer, a senior marketing-professional sales student  from Watertown, WI; Patrick Delehanty, a senior marketing-professional sales student from Verona, WI; Zachary Fletcher, a senior marketing major from Oakdale, MN; Scott Hannan, a senior marketing student from Black Earth, WI, and Thomas Opitz, a senior marketing major and Spanish business major from Vadnais Heights, MN. LaNette Flunker (Management and Marketing) was the faculty coach for the UW-Eau Claire team.

The team from Bowling Green State University finished first in the 2010 NCAC undergraduate division, with Florida State University, University of Toledo and University of Washington tying for second place. Chelsea Sargent, a student from Florida State University, was named 2010 NCAC undergraduate division champion.

Warm-Up competitors did well at Nationals

Twelve of the fourteen colleges and universities that competed at the 2009 UW-Eau Claire Great Northwoods Sales Warm-Up also participated at the 2010 National Collegiate Sales Competition (NCSC). Collin Forst, a University of Northern Iowa student who placed third at the 2009 UW-Eau Claire Warm-Up, made it into the 2010 NCSC Semi Finals. Five Warm-Up competitors also made it into the NCSC Quarter Finals. These students are Robyn McBrady, Bemidji State University; Kyle Hagemann, UW-Parkside; Chris Hale and Emily Moe, University of Wisconsin–Stout; and Chelsea Meffert, Western Carolina University.
