Annual IT Conference to be Held March 4-5, 2010
Clouds and Clients: A Diversity of Platforms is the theme of the 26th Annual Information Technology Conference for Wisconsin Technical College Instructors. It will be held March 4-5, 2010, at the Plaza Hotel & Suites in Eau Claire, WI. The conference, which is hosted by the Wisconsin Technical College System and the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire Department of Information Systems, is for IT faculty, staff, and professionals at Wisconsin technical colleges as well as for information systems students and faculty at area universities.
Highlights of the conference include a presentation on IBM’s Green Data Center initiative; the Best Buy Geek Squad; iPhone application development; gaming and simulation in the IT curriculum; and a review of emerging IT trends from the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Association show. Participants will also share program initiatives, promising activities, and student recruitment and retention ideas from their institutions. There will be an evening reception sponsored by Cengage Learning.
The annual information technology outstanding service award will be presented by Mike Tokheim, of the WTC System Office. An IT Summer Institute professional development opportunity for technical college faculty will be announced by Ken McCullough, MATC–Madison IT Department chair.
