UW-Eau Claire to Present 'The Impact of Health Reform on Senior Care'

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will present a forum titled "The Impact of Health Reform on Senior Care" from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 22, in the Tamarack Room of Davies Center.

This forum will provide a brief overview of current legislative proposals, encourage an open discussion about the pros and cons of the current federal initiatives, and explore what the future might hold for senior citizens and other stakeholders in the U.S. health care system. A question and answer session will follow the presentations.

Panelists include Robert Burke, chair of the department of health administration of Health Service Management and Leadership, School of Public Health and Health Services, George Washington University; Clifton Porter, vice president of governmental affairs, HCR Manor Care; and Lisa Lamkins, advocacy director, Wisconsin AARP.

Jennifer Johs-Artisensi, associate director of UW-Eau Claire's Center for Health Administration and Aging Services Excellence, will serve as moderator.

The forum is free and open to the public and no registration is required.

UW-Eau Claire's CHAASE, the Western Wisconsin Regional Geriatric Education Center, UW–Eau Claire's economics department, the UW–Eau Claire College of Nursing, and the American College of Health Care Administrators, Student Chapter, are sponsoring the forum.
