Electives let you explore topics relevant to your particular needs and interests. Course offerings vary from semester to semester and new electives are added each year. Since electives are 1-3 credits, students who want less than the 4-credit load offered by a module can take one or two electives instead.
Required mini-modules for On-campus MBA Students
You will enroll in the required mini-modules:
Leadership (MBA 715). This course creates a learning environment in which you will examine your effectiveness and potential as leaders from both a personal and professional standpoint. You will explore the idea of "leader" from multiple perspectives; the leader as strategist, coach, mentor, facilitator, director, and change agent.
Understanding a Diverse Workforce (MBA 733). This course provides you with insights to background and cultural business issues important to different populations. You will discuss critical issues with a variety of community and business leaders.
Dual-Numbered Courses
Dual-numbered courses are offered by the College of Business at both the undergraduate and graduate level. You may take a maximum of two dual-numbered courses (6 credits) as MBA electives. To receive MBA credit, you must register for these courses for graduate credit (numbered at the 500-600 level). As a graduate student in a dual-numbered course, you will complete additional assignments. Contact the MBA program director for approval prior to enrolling in dual-numbered courses.
