In order to apply for this scholarship, the applicant must meet all of the following eligibility criteria:
- Be a continuing junior or senior Communication (Communication Studies, Public Communication, or Organizational Communication), Mass Communication (Advertising or Public Relations) or Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, or Print Journalism major or minor
- Be active in public speaking or oral persuasion
- Be one of the following:
- a student preparing for a career as a high school speech communication teacher planning to teach speech communication classes and/or coach forensics
- with a total GPA of 3.0 or better
- with a total GPA of 3.0 or better
- a student preparing to go to law school
- with a total GPA of 3.5 or better
- with a total GPA of 3.5 or better
- a student preparing to do graduate studies in Communication
- with a total GPA of 3.4 or better
- a student preparing for a career as a high school speech communication teacher planning to teach speech communication classes and/or coach forensics
This scholarship may be renewable for juniors.
